Aziz Faqir has extensive experience within Emerging Markets accumulated at bulge bracket investment banks, hedge funds and private equity. His relationship with Carrhae and its founding team goes back to the firm's inception, where he supported the firm in raising its initial capital when he was at Goldman Sachs.

Prior to joining Carrhae in 2019, Aziz was Managing Partner for the Lakson Investments Private Equity Fund, which focussed on healthcare investments in Pakistan and served as CEO of a portfolio company, OMI Hospital.

From 2010 to 2016, Aziz was at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for the coverage of hedge fund allocators across the UK and Middle East as well as Prime Brokerage sales for the Middle East region.

He began his career in Debt Capital Markets at Standard Chartered Bank, in 2002. In 2004, Aziz joined the Emerging Markets structuring team at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. In 2007, he joined the Emerging Markets team at Merrill Lynch. Between 2008 and 2010, Aziz was Partner and Head of Research at Valiance Advisors LLP
